Pennsylvania Railroad's New Terminal in New York City

``Pennsylvania Railroad's new terminal, occupies a plot of ground from Seventh to Ninth Avenues and 31st to 33rd Streets. In connection with this great Railroad Station there are three single-track tunnels under the North River and two under the East River thereby connecting the Pennsylvania Railroad and its Long Island Division by tunnels under 32nd and 33rd Streets. Tunnels from Homestead, New Jersey to Thompson Avenue, Long Island City, 15 miles long; trains will pass under rivers 100 feet below high tide.´´
